Amazing displays of ignorance
Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

First thing I heard when I got home today
I walk into the house with my suitcase after a week working in Cologne, and one of my two housemates came up to me saying that we were out of bin bags. He was quite concerned that the dustbin men hadn't left us replacements.
He didn't realise you bought them, he thought that when you put the bins out you get a roll of bin bags left after it's taken.
He's 21 and has clearly never bought bin bags OR brought the bin back in from the pavement.

Your binbags are being stolen
Every quarter the binmen leave us a roll of binbags. You're the ignorant one here.

The Quantum Fourier Transform?
Anyway, not sure if this is a wind-up or not, but I've lived in 6 houses in Bristol and some of those I was the only one to handle the bins, so either they were nicked from all of them, or we don't have that.
Also, he admits he has never seen these bags left anywhere, and can't remember where he got the idea from.

Perhaps he's thinking of this type of thing:
Our binmen will leave us a roll of special small biodegradable bags, upon request, for the kitchen compost recycling collection.
This means that when they do a bin collection, they can easily collect however-many-thousand small white bags (of eggshells, banana peels, and suchlike) from our dedicated green storage bins, with mininmal problems of flies / odour / general mankiness.
The request system means that taxpayers money isn't wasted on spamming them to everyone, regardless of whether they'd use a lot, some, or none at all.

Ah, yes
I've heard of *that*, there's a phone number to call if you need more bags for the kitchen waste.

Entirely possible that the binmen dont do that around your way, but they do round my way.
