...but not for the usual tawdry reasons. I was in Borders bookshop and had just come across a few books by Ms Coulter.
I'm afraid I exposed my own ignorance. I picked up one of her intellectual tomes, and turned to the guy browsing next to me.
"Excuse me," I asked, "is Ann Coulter real?" I indicated the book.
"Afraid so," he replied, rolling his eyes.
"Oh," I said. "I thought she was a character made up by The Onion."
In my own defense, she is pretty incredible (in the literal sense of the word).
