Nah, I'm not that old...... and besides, what her views are on kids born inside or outside marriage is irrelevant to the story. What it's about is her assumption of how our family had developed and learning that was wrong.
All her life, my sister had assumed, as any kid with married parents would, that her mum and dad had got married well before any kids came along. So finding out that wasn't the case upset her and shook her world a bit. Then I came home and shook it up some more.
Probably didn't help the way she found out - my mum yelling "I only married your father because he got me pregnant" mid-argument with her...
