I did it as a paying hobbynot sure there's the same scope for casual blowing stuff up fun as there was even 10 years ago.
My favorite was removing a tree that was 'dangerously' hanging off a cliff. Abseiling with a paper-bag containing two sticks of gelignite held in my mouth and my mate with blasting cord wrapped round his middle....what could go wrong. We lowered the detonator on a piece of string once we were all set up, we weren't complete idiots.
