Terrible ParentingMy parents used to lock my brother, sister and I in the car while they went to the pub for a "quick one" after work. This quick one might last several hours, during which they would send bottles of Indian Tonic Water to us by way of refreshment.
On one particularly cold evening, bored stupid, we lit a small bonfire on the back seat of the car using the cigarette lighter and the contents of the glove box. We owe our lives to passing winos. (BTW: Please no more Maddie or Jesus gags, they've been done.)

Ice creamWhen I was very young my mom picked me up from school in the middle of the day telling me that we were going to go get ice cream. She then drove me to the doctor's office and said I needed to go in for a checkup before we get any ice cream. Before I would leave the car I made her promise that she wouldn't let the doctor give me a shot. He didn't give me A shot, he gave me THREE shots. Afterwards I asked her if we were going to get ice cream now. She said all the ice cream shops were closed because I took to long getting my shots.
