sketchy old place. been nearly mugged there a couple times. thankfully, i can pedal fast for a fat guy, specially when there's a few hundred notes of hard-won and hard to replace mountain bike at stake.

You know it? Yeah it's not the sort of place you want to get caught in after dark and have heard of load of muggings for bikes, skateboards and in-line skates around there....Luckily no bum rapes yet.

I live a stones throw from there..
in Caversham. Can't say I've ever encountered any trouble though, aside from some backchat from chavvies using Reading bridge as an impromptu diving board in the summertime.
