When I was in America...This was about twenty-odd years ago. I was in Tennessee, about 15 miles from the nearest town, hiking along the road. I saw a guy sitting by the side of the road, dressed in black and carrying a guitar. I asked him what he was doing, and he said that he'd been walking into town, when he stumbled and twisted his ankle. Since I was heading into town anyway, I told him I'd give him a piggyback. So, he hopped up onto my shoulders and I started walking. While he was perched up there, he started playing his guitar and singing. Now I'm not really into country, but this guy was pretty good - he had a nice deep voice - and it helped pass the time. So, a few hours later, we eventually got to town, and I dropped him off at the doctor's. We shook hands, and he offered to reward me for my trouble. I said no, but he insisted, and pulled out a wad of dollars from his backpack and gave it to me. There must have been about thirty grand there. Turns out he was actually some famous singer!
So, that's the story of how some singer gave me the most cash I've ever carried.
Never did find out the bloke's name, though.
