Our biggest political priorityShould be to become self-sufficient in energy.
We need to invest in solar, wind, tidal energy. Anything that can't be generated that way must be made up from nuclear plants.
It's time we were no longer at the mercy of these countries in the middle-East - most of which hate us anyway.

Canada has the largest oil reserves in the worldMakes the middle east look like a can of WD40 in comparison.
Mind you it costs a little more to extract, even if you take in to consideration 100 years of armed occupation.
