There's saving money, and there's being tight: saving money at the expense of other people, or simply for the miserly hell of it.

Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

I think it applies only to consumables
since they'll be replacing these pretty quickly. Plus the per-unit loss is tiny.

Whereas with yachts they're losing a lot of money at a time- and wouldn't have expected to lose them!

Would you care if they used the same amount of sugar in their tea while in the room (i.e. if they nick 20 packs a time, would you mind if they had 5 4-sugar teas)? The hotel loses in exactly the same way.

Edit: The glasses don't class as theft because... err... they're probably promotional items from the brewery... or something.

Beer glasses
I am told by a barman that when you buy the drink, technically you also buy the glass. Not entirely convinced, but...
