Big budgetA friend worked in events management. She got a new job heading up that particular department in an investment bank - just in time to organise the celebtration of their latest deal. One department had advised some multinational on a very big transaction and had received a whopping fee.
She was told to organise a long weekend for the whole department (dozens of people; precise numbers I dont know). What was the budget you ask? Bear in mind this was a few years before their was any suggestion of belt tightening?
Was it £20,000? £100,000 No.
The budget for this long weekend bender was £10million.
That is all.
