when my son was 2 years old, and my daughter was only a few months old
my wife accidentally locked them and the car keys in the car while out shopping.
Luckily after a few frantic minutes she managed to persuade my son to undo (with some difficulty) his car seat belt, clamber up and unlock his door.
fascinating, i know.

The only bad part is,now he knows how to get out of his car seat.
My cousin's kid figured that trick out on his own at about the same age and, while Dad was unlocking the house front door, escaped from his seat and accidentally let the handbrake off, rolling Dad's prized 1969 Alfa Spyder into the garage, fatally wounding the front wing.
I didn't crash my Dad's car until I was 17 at least!
