My Great-Uncle left me his visitors book which along with boring people like the Queen and Harold Wilson has Spike Milligan's signature in it. It's all loopy.
Either that or my Grandfather's swords.

So far this has never happened to mebut I have been in the 'best friend' position to a friend who had just got divorced. We went off on a mega-backpacking trip together - starting off in Poland with no plan and ending up in China.
