This is a question My most treasured possession

What's your most treasured possession? What would you rescue from a fire (be it for sentimental or purely financial reasons)?

My Great-Uncle left me his visitors book which along with boring people like the Queen and Harold Wilson has Spike Milligan's signature in it. It's all loopy.

Either that or my Grandfather's swords.

@mistafeesh
Did you just delete the files from your hard-drive or did you format the hard-drive? If you just deleted the files and have not overwritten them, you can still recover the files with specialised file-recovery software. There's freely-available software to download (do not save it to the hard-drive (or hard-drive-partition) that contained your writing) that can 'un-delete' some files, but most of these programs either charge you a ransom or limit you to the number of files that can be recovered or their size. In fact, if you deleted the partition but have not overwritten it, it's still possible to either un-delete the partition or use a hex-editor that can read raw sectors.

If you're not geeky enough to get what I'm saying, read "There are possibilities for recovery but don’t get your hopes up".
