What's your most treasured possession? What would you rescue from a fire (be it for sentimental or purely financial reasons)?
My Great-Uncle left me his visitors book which along with boring people like the Queen and Harold Wilson has Spike Milligan's signature in it. It's all loopy.
Either that or my Grandfather's swords.

this reminds me of mr happylittletulip's grandma, who I never met, since she had passed away by the time I met mr hlt.
She had two engagement rings, a cheaper one and a not-so-cheaper one, like rachelswipe's mum did, but she loved both of them. She didn't really want the second one cos she didn't mind the first one no matter how cheap it was.
Then when mr hlt proposed to me, he gave me the most beautiful ring in the world. It is his grandma's two rings, melted down, redesigned and re-set to a style of his choosing, at her instructions. She had left them to him for his future wife.
It's beautiful and it never leaves my finger. I feel proud to wear it.
