I had the choice, in my teens, of going to college or enlisting in the military. I took the wuss way out.
The Falklands happened just after this, it looked awesome. I seriously regret not joining up.

Well not in the Falklands campaign, although I think the SAS did some stuff into Argentina.
I wanted to join the Paras, everyone I've since met who did, loved it.

Every
documentry about the falklands I have ever watched made it look as grim as fuck, unless of cource you were an RAF pilot flying Harriers, now that would of been great fun blowing mirages out of the sky that were trying to attack your ships. Ground forces suffered the elements big time, not to mention smashing the Bargy front lines, tons of deaths and injuries on both sides, consider yourself lucky.
