I once paid a small fortune to a solicitor in a legal case. She got lost on the way to court, turned up late with the wrong papers and started an argument with the judge, who told her to "shut up, for the love of God". A stunning investment.
Thanks to golddust for the suggestion

then you're a fool - they're less likely to pay out than the regular machines. I've spent many an afternoon playing those games, and have rarely left out of pocket - often, you can just go in, find a 2p in the draw (someone always misses one) and have an afternoon of free fun. Even if you don't win, you're not exactly losing anything.
Stay clear of the 10p ones, though - they're just a good way to make yourself poor (and they ALWAYS have prizes stacked on the money, all the better to tempt the greedy).

there was one in towyn that nobody ever went into. i put about 4 coins in it and practically emptied the machine! the bloke in there was a laugh, he was bored stiff and i ended up spending most of the day in there with him, drinking tea and eating broken rock :)
