i have to disagree to an extentit goes amazing with the "my Movies" software, though i do run it with XBMC too for the HD stuff. I get on with WMC fine because I micromanage the thing, but i still wouldn't recommend it to a family user.
News on the horizon is....
Windows 7 embedded will be making it's way to TV's and set top boxes near you and including WMC functionality with the firmware!
