The Weird Kid In Class
There was a kid in my class who stood up every day and told everyone he had new shoes. This went on for weeks, and we all thought him nuts. Then, one day, he stood up and told us a long story about why his family were moving to another part of the country, and how excited he was. The next thing we heard was that he'd died in a plane crash.
Let's hear about the weird kid in your class...

So Jade Goody does reflect the UK then...
Many of you lot appear to be the sort of kids at school that made me wish my father had illegally stolen an AK47 when he was in Oman in the seventies (like some people he knew).
Sort of glad he didn't, as rather than being in prison now for mass murder, I'm writing a novel about a fictional kid whose father *did* bring back illegal weapons .
The first line is:
"Reader, I killed them…"
Contrary to the opinions of a few people on here I can confirm that many of the bullies from my schooldays really do remain stuck in their stupid, dull, vapid mindset (and now in many cases have the empty, pointless lives they deserve). The few of them that went on to be materially successful even manage to confuse that with having a decent life.
I know of people that were bullies at school but have changed since growing into adults (and regretted the hurt they caused). I'm a bit disappointed that very few people who gleefully admit to bullying on here seem to express any regret.
And yes, I wish I had spoken up sooner.
