Freddy Woo writes, "A group of us once staggered home so insensible with drink that we failed to notice someone being killed and buried in a shallow grave not more than 50 yards away. A crime unsolved to this day."
Have you witnessed a crime and done bugger all about it? Or are you a have-a-go hero?
Whatever. Tell us about it...

Valentine's Day - 2005. We're going home, the pubs are just shutting, and our attention is attracted to an altercation.
There's a man and woman fighting, and the bloke in question then gives the woman an almighty punch. My man goes up to him, positions himself between the bloke and this now hysterical woman. I try to talk to the woman. Only for both of us to be screamed at and my bloke near slapped by the woman to leave the man who slapped her alone.
We left them to it in the end.

I never thought a woman getting a good slap from her bloke would refuse help, but on many occasions older/wiser people have told me stories which are almost identical to this one. Maybe some girls just like beatings?

Apparently the beatee will often refuse help for fear of further punishment (real or imaginary) later down the line.

Has anyone ever tried interfering in one of these and had the damsel in distress actually thank them? A stiletto across the back of the head seems more common.
