Good one!I use logmein in the same way you do, except once - set up a webcam and speakers on your machine at home, with the camera facing the stairs. Play music at awesome volume. Watch mum come up the stairs to find out whats going on. Stop music. Wait for mum to disappear, play music again. And so on :P
