This is a question Failed Projects

You start off with the best of intentions, but through raging incompetence, ineptitude or the plain fact that you're working in IT, things go terribly wrong and there's hell to pay. Tell us about the epic failures that have brought big ideas to their knees. Or just blame someone else.

About three months ago I decided to make some mead.
It's going well. So far I've managed to decide to make cider instead after seeing the price of honey. If anyone lives in Jakarta and has an apple press, please gaz me.

I considered making cider a couple of years back
as my parents apple trees had a bumper year. After a bit of Google research and adding up all the equipment I would need, I decided against it.

Mead you say...
Could you please post links to the recipe et cetera you are using? I would be interested to give this a go.

Homebrewing tip
I have done some home brewing and in the process acquired many books on how to make the booze. One of these suggests an alternative to an apple press, I think my parents did this back in the 70's.

Using a bucket with a lid that can be firmly secured make a small hole in the lid. The you can use a paint stirrer, one of the big ones that's powered by a an electric drill to mush up your apples.
