i got a great tip once
from a club pro.
i used to shank my ball pretty much every time - sometimes a little, sometimes a lot, but always veering off to the right.
He told me to imagine that in the gap in my arms while holding a club, there was a bucket full of water. if your arms remain straight - the ball flies straight, and you stay dry. otherwise - you get wet. worked for me
