As a previous reply stated...
a roller on a pole is the way forward. Also use good quality paint (Crown, Delux etc), not Homebase own 10p a bucket rubbish (which is like painting with milk).

paint problem solved
smoke embassy no 1 in huge quantities, it will give your ceiling a rather pleasant yellowy look. You will also look super cool smoking. But a word to the wise, stop smoking before you get cancer.
