This is a question Failed Projects

You start off with the best of intentions, but through raging incompetence, ineptitude or the plain fact that you're working in IT, things go terribly wrong and there's hell to pay. Tell us about the epic failures that have brought big ideas to their knees. Or just blame someone else.

My mother and I decided to tackle painting the ceiling in my flat one saturday a few months ago. The problem is I have one of those godawful acoustic/popcorn ceilings that just soak up paint like a sponge and takes forever to paint. 7 hours later my ceiling looked like a dsylexic 3 year old decided to have a go and had a fit half way through. Half the ceiling has a lovely mottled cloudy effect and the other half is just random stripes of gray (old ceiling) and shiny white (new ceiling). We didn't even try to bother around the edges. Now I look up at my ceiling whenever I am being a couch potato and get a headache thinking about the day that I won't be able to stand it anymore and have to give it another coat :/
