Meteorologistsactually have a very difficult job, especially in the UK with its rapidly changing, locally variable maritime climate. Yes, weather patterns are inherently chaotic, but there's some short term order to the way they work. Given enough data, and a big enough computer to work it all out, short term (up to 3 day) weather forecasts can be pretty good these days.
