This is a question "You're doing it wrong"

Chthonic confesses: "Only last year did I discover why the lids of things in tubes have a recessed pointy bit built into them." Tell us about the facepalm moment when you realised you were doing something wrong.

Strictly speaking....
"wrong" is an adverb as well as an adjective.
"wrongly" is an adverb only and usually comes before the adjective it describes.

eg: "He played the tune wrong"
and "the tune was wrongly played" - both correct

I didn't know that. You have just added to my wisdom. Next time I'll not be such a smart arse.
