Well, how about thisYou might not like the man, nor his views, but he still might care to hear about your problems.
My dad votes for the Scottish Socialist Party nationally, but for the Liberal Democrats locally, because he has found their council work to be pretty swell.
Maybe you'll like him as a mayor in a years time. If you are going to continue to be rude, I'll just be silently happy in your anger at your prefered candidate losing.

I've looked at First Name Johnson's policies, none of which apply or appeal to me. That's why I voted elsewhere. I voted for the Lib Dems for local council because of their past history of success.
So I ask you again: Why would I vote for a man who I don't like, or whose views I don't like?

Nobecause we don't live in a democracy, we live in a Republic and I am not all that fond of either.
Of course you wouldn't vote for him, but he might not turn out to be as bad as you think.
To use the previous example, my dad would never vote for the liberal democrats. He wasn't fond of them or their candidate.
But he ended up being more responsive to my dads concerns than the lib dem platform called for or even their candidate had indicated.
