Do you have the skype plug-in doodah.
One of the recent versions of that fucks up java in both firefox and ie.

Yus Skype caused me problems
didn't even notice the fucking thing install itself into Firefox. Everything was fine once I got shot of it.
That'll learn me for installing communication software whilst drunk.
