having some problems with my internet, and I 'think' (being a techno-numpty) it has something to do with javascript, but I'm not sure what. Certain pages aren't loading, or are loading VERY slowly indeed (on a tested 7MB speed) and enabling/disabling javascript does weird things to it, like sometimes not load at all, or load very slowly as above (facebook in particular is affected by this)
Now, in words of one syllable or less for me, has anyone got any ideas on what might have happened with javascript, or what I coudld do to repair it, because my internet enjoyment (I have already reinstalled Firefox 3 from scratch, with no add-ons, and even IE7 is also playing up) is rapidly decreasing.
Help me Obi /talk Kenobi, you're my only hope.
/incidentally, b3ta is working fine (all boards, very quick resposne) but some sites such as facebook - mentioned above - are not working at all for me, hence why I think it coudl be javascript related.

Nod32
Ad-Aware SE Professional
Spyware Doctor
also have Spybot and Noadware as back ups
also run the excellent Windows AdvancedCare regularly, and no spyware shows up on any of these

netstat > C:netstat.txt
then find C:\netstat.txt, open it up and paste all that into a GAZ

none of the programs I mention above seem to detect anything wrong elsewhere, and the machine still works like a dream elsewhere. It appears to be a problem just happening today.
I have no knowledge of the inner workings of these things, so don't know what I can do about the javascript issue, which appears to be causing the problem

you have definitely caught a nasty from somewhere, no matter what your antivirus is telling you
update all your virus definitions, try restarting in safe mode, do a full virus scan and see if that shifts it

speed is fine, and a lot of sites (b3ta included) are running A-OK and very fast
it appears to be sites that are affected quite abit by javascript.
last week, I mentioned on here that /talk very often carshes for me - not /board or /links, just /talk. It was isolated to a javascript problem.
