Maybe just drinking beer with lab coats on would be sciency enough?

You might have to do something.
Like measure how temperature effects the taste.
You must test this thoroughly by drinking it 3 different times at each temprature.

Create a double blind testing, repeated three times.
And each time you must drink three pints 'just to be sure'.

The data collected then must be entered into SPSS and given a repeated measures ANOVA tests at the 0.05 level of significance to see what temperature is best.

How can you do double blind testing with temperature of a drink?

I'm not sure.
Maybe if the barman didn't know the temperature and the drinker didn't either?

You could probably blind the bartender,
but you'd struggle to stop someone knowing what the temperature of their drink is.

That is true.
Maybe if there were only a couple of degrees in it they might not be able to tell.

Bad science.
