What, in your opinion, constitutes a piss up?
The Boyfriend, determined to improve his organisational skills, is planning a piss up in a brewery. He has a list of potential breweries (that do tasting or have bars) but is now unsure what exactly would count as a successful piss up. He is tentatively defining it as at least five people drinking at least four pints each.
Any thoughts?

When I was in the pub the tv lost signal for a couple minutes
It was quite amusing to see lots of people watching suddenly rush out the door to another pub.

I can recommend this place*:
www.westbeer.com/Tours and nice food.
*not my own brewery.

A piss up is not an exact science.
Sore heads in the morning are obligatory. A girl in tears at the end of the evening is always an indicator of a good night out too.
Edit: I would reccomend Shepherd Neame's Brewery tour, very good. Beer and cheese afterwards too.

I WILL MAKE IT SCIENCE.
Look. They're drinking from test tubes.
(
Cae1, Wed 27 May 2009, 21:29,

Fail.
Not enough volume of beer is held in a test tube.
500ml conical flask. That is more like it!

Maybe just drinking beer with lab coats on would be sciency enough?

You might have to do something.
Like measure how temperature effects the taste.
You must test this thoroughly by drinking it 3 different times at each temprature.
(
Cae1, Wed 27 May 2009, 21:37,

Create a double blind testing, repeated three times.
And each time you must drink three pints 'just to be sure'.
The data collected then must be entered into SPSS and given a repeated measures ANOVA tests at the 0.05 level of significance to see what temperature is best.

How can you do double blind testing with temperature of a drink?

I'm not sure.
Maybe if the barman didn't know the temperature and the drinker didn't either?
(

You could probably blind the bartender,
but you'd struggle to stop someone knowing what the temperature of their drink is.

That is true.
Maybe if there were only a couple of degrees in it they might not be able to tell.
Bad science.

They're what science is done in.

8 pints is more like it.

My school took us on a trip to a brewery, coinciding neatly with when the free bar was closed.
They failed to organise a piss up in a brewery.
I'd say the important thing is that everyone/the majority get pissed, which would depend on individual tolerances.

If the five people were complete cunts, it would probably be shit
regardless of how much beer was consumed.
Tell him to man up, ARRANGE it (not organise it - organised fun is usually inherently shit) and enjoy it himself.
