To be fair itunes is quite lovely
and it's a cinch to use with the iphone, I put all the music on manually (as opposed to automatically filling it up).

Dunno about using it as filespace, though it's easy to get the pictures off it in XP as it sees it as a digital camera.

not if I'm using it at multiple locations.
I just lost some stuff whilst syncing at work, that I synced at home.

If it were like Steam is for games (i.e. doesn't matter where I am, as the DRM is on my account, not machine) I'd probably have no complaints.

Hmm, I guess.
I turned off the syncing as it drove me up the wall - but I guess I only have one machine with itunes on.

I don't think it lets you connect it to another machine - even if it's your own - to put music on,
I think it only lets you have one library to sync to. I'm not sure.
