'Uh-oh, this can't be good'
Having played Street Fighter 2 in the arcade, then SF2 turbo on the SNES, then downloadedd the SF2 turbo HD remix on XBLA, I bought the disc of Street Fighter 4.

The music theme on the opening menu is horribly remeniscent of 'Backstreet Boys' and as such has made me too scared to click on the Start in case more music like it lies within.

What video game music kicks ass and you would put it on a stereo, playing the game or not?

(Duke Nukem for me).

I'm not sure I would anymore.
Though Sonic 1 the gree hill zone is a long time favorite of mine.

allo, handlebar-mustachioed beefmeister
is it the music in its own right or rather that it transports you back to a simpler, happer time?

The music, it's just great game music.
I now have the hitler 'tache, I think I'll tweet the days events.

that NES vibrato
the grating off-key wobbling. Eventually I forgave it. These days it is only in evidence in musical greeting cards.

It's all on a CD that was free with Nintendo Official Magazine a few years ago.
I'm listening to that CD right now.

or else I have to lpay all that Zelda on the NES emulator and stay alive long enough to hear all the music... hard work.

No linky.
I'm on the internet channel on my Wii. Limited resources.

remixes you say?
I hear some of the Final Fantasy tunes are rendered with full orchestral arrangements in Japan, just difficult to get them over here...
