Not a no-hoper though.
I pay tax on my wages, which although isn't much on average, the output of my work allows my company to pay tax on the service they provide which is a lot. Not saying the company would fall down without me, but I think they'd struggle to get someone with my productivity levels on my wages and therefore profit less.

Sure, if I was working on a till in a corner shop without being a family member, or awnsering phones in a cab office, then I'd be a bad investment, or a lifetime student....those people don't pay tax or produce anything finanically worth while anyway.
