I spent 7 hours tidying the bathroom the other day.
It is super shiny now.

It should be after seven hours!
I really need to do that to our bathroom - I don't think the previous tenant ever cleaned it. Still psyching myself up to get on with it.

I've cleaned the important places.
There's just an entire universe living behind the toilet that needs more than just normal household cleaner.

i don't judge,
I lived in a house with a bathroom so horrendous that most of the time I would go outdoors. Had to go to work or a friends house for a poo or a shower.

I've had an experience similar to that :(
At least this house is okay after a bit of attention. Two years ago I shared a house with three people who didn't understand the concept of cleaning, I never want to see someone using a broom on kitchen surfaces again (and that was after moving off all the moldy plates/rotting food).

close all the windows and doors, and carefully seal the gaps and key holes, then just turn on all the taps and wait

Not much more than normal household cleaner in my experience.
Household cleaner and a toothbrush.

I did try that, It's generally a huge build up of scum and mold on the pipe work mainly.
It improved it but there's still a lot there, just summing myself up for round three.

ding ding ding
Round 2 of the fight of the century, gloving up is the new comer DaftScrawl, weighing half a tonne and with no real experience she is not the favourite in this match up.
In the other corner, a well known opponent, scurge of the bathroom, hard hitting, big guns, a mix of piss and mould! BACK OF THE TOILET SCUM!
