when it came out I got us tickets to see it at the cinema
when we went there it transpired that I had bought them for 3 months in the future, like a fucking spastic - the date I'd got them for was not one of 'my' weekends so that was that

My local cinema is great
A community cinema, run by volunteers, dirt cheap and has nachos with proper nacho cheese. A ticket, a large drink, large popcorn and nachos comes to about £12

the one we go to in Whitechapel is owned by ex film industry types
they do genuinely decent pizzas and have a great bar, family ticket for 3 of us is £15 - the sweets cost a fucking fortune though

That's where they make their money
My cinema gives more screen time to kid's films because they know kids get their parents to spend a lot more than the parents would do on their own. They still show all the big new films, although they're a bit hit and miss when it comes to horrors
