Just bought an air con unit
cheap bugger from Amazon. £195. I know we'll only use it for a couple of weeks a year but found it almost impossible to sleep for some of last summer.

You'll be pleased to know
that now I've bought an air con unit the temperature won't rise above 26 degrees until it's just ouf of warranty and so no longer works.
