In the middle ages
Water was so unsafe that people would drink what was known as "small beer", basically a weak ale, from the moment they woke up. Even babies went straight from breast to small beer. Therefore, there is a long established tradition of beer drinking at breakfast time.
So yes, it's never too early for a beer.
