More that due to personal connections with people on /board, the CST became quite aggressively spammed as the unofficial official b3ta charity, with fundraising efforts taking place online and at b4shes. Especially after they named a leopard after a /board person who died, so there was a lovely overtone of guilt-tripping aimed at anyone who questioned this arrangement.

Then he went full Russell Brand about 10 years ago, and both his and the CST's social media output became fixated on conspiracy theories about the pole shift, germ theory denialism and anti-vaccine stuff. And then it turned out, to not many people's surprise, that his facility is a dump and the welfare of the animals in his care was shoddy at best.
