Thanks Smashie. Unfortunately as the owner of the business, if I don't turn up to work and it all goes to shit I then it's on me, and given that 3 of the other GPs were already on long term sick and another rang up today and said they felt a bit off today and weren't coming in it wasn't really an option as otherwise we'd have had to close the surgery and CQC and the ICB would have come down on us like a ton of unsympathetic bricks.
It's certainly not our patients fault, more NHS England's fuckwittery.

Oh yeah, I can pay for as many locums as I like until I run out of money completely. Unfortunately I then have to deal with all of the investigations and other admin that they generate.(
