He was unintelligible in The Wire ( which is probably the single most overrated tv show in history) and he's the least convincing police fella in that UK cop show - what's he good at?
Liam Gallagher is a twat though

Its almost unwatchable
Not one sympathetic character in the whole series and it revels and rolls about in the shitty valueless horrific us culture it portrays.
American dramas are almost always awful, because their culture and attitudes are awful and The Wire is the worst of a bad bunch. If Baltimore is at all like it's portrayed they need to wall it all off and set it on fire.

I think the reason people loved it was that every character was an arsehole
whilst you also having a tiny bit of context (and sympathy perhaps) for their situation.
Essentially, I think the reason you hate it, is what people who love it would say was their reason for loving it.

There's a big difference between a documentary and a drama
I'll leave you to work that through as I'd be too simple to explain.
Bubbles had a regional us accent, so no I couldn't sympathise in any way.
On a similar note I made it about 10 minutes through Fargo before the regional American accents made me so angry I walked out of the cinema.

Interesting read, cheers.
A while back I was discussing something similar with an acquaintance who runs his own business based in London. He had been gobsmacked to learn that not only can none of his administrative staff afford to buy a flat in London, most can't even afford to rent, and had to spend around 3 hrs (round trip) commuting daily. I pointed out to him that if he gave up around 10% of his own salary, he could raise their salaries enough that they could at least choose to rent closer and reduce their commutes to say 1 hour with a corresponding increase in quality of life and hopefully productivity. He could do the maths but he couldn't grasp the concept. Glad I left all that kind of crap behind.

I'd like to think when I my own company is large enough, ie 5 staff...
Even if I cant pay massive wages, I'd at least show and be honest that I'm giving as much as I could.
I'd want my staff wanting to work for me, see I'm an OK sort and then help to make we/them/us get more money. I wouldnt need a million a year if my staff were on 26k for a hypothetical example. See what happened to sony and Ashley Madison when a pissed off employee basically makes you lose all the money you could have originally given out not being a cunt.

for a rack mounted server going full fan at startup. Now if it twisted under the torque reaction I would be interested.
Air cooled mainframes did made me a bit deaf after many years working with them. Univac used to build a computer around the largest 3-phase fan they could get.
