Handy for drink driving?
m.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-28551069
I don't like the idea of them really, nothing specific, just don't. Yourviews? Have you ever driven under the influence, drink or drugs?
Alt, read anything good recently?
Alt alt ,views on bankers handing back up to seven years worth of bonuses?

Driverless cars on our roads? - I doubt I'll see it happen in my lifetime*
The filth and the traffic wombles won't like them - plus, I will bet they will still expect a sober licenced driver to be at the wheel.

Alt: ~No, I've been quite lax in my reading lately. Recommend anything?

Altalt: Really? String the cunts up - or, even better, just wait until everyone realises that you can sell insurance and money products ANYWHERE. It doesn't have to be in 'The city'.

*I am quite old.

I haven't read much myself recently, last was some stuff on the Second World War.

Drink driving is utterly indefensible and should carry a lifetime ban when convicted

(, Wed 30 Jul 2014, 7:45, Reply)
also, reading Martin Amis and Thomas Pynchon at the moment.
You wouldn't like them.

Yeh well what if you have no phone, no way of contacting an ambulance
are 2 miles away from a hospital and your partner will be dead if you don't get them to a hospital in 7 minutes. No-one else is around, you've necked a couple of pink gins, do you drive?

Won't catch on,
People enjoy driving. If it was just about getting from A to B we'd have trams everywhere
(, Wed 30 Jul 2014, 8:32, Reply)
Or all pavements replaced with those flat escalator things they have at airports

(, Wed 30 Jul 2014, 8:35, Reply)
I don't enjoy driving, it's something that has to be done. I still don't like the idea of robot cars.

(, Wed 30 Jul 2014, 8:37, Reply)
Oh I'm terribly sorry
Please assume I said "Most drivers enjoy driving"

I'm 32 and I don't have a full licence.

You're usually more relaxed after a few drinks, so you can often walk away from quite serious accidents unscathed

(, Wed 30 Jul 2014, 9:19, Reply)
3% of all accidents are caused by speeding and 2% by drink drivers
Which means a whopping 95% are caused by people driving too slowly or too sober. If every tried drinking AND speeding at the same time we would see a 190% drop in road traffic accidents. Probably.
(, Wed 30 Jul 2014, 9:30, Reply)
I drove drunk once. I didn't enjoy it.
