Genuine question
is it being attracted to the sex or to the gender that makes you gay/straight? I think we would say that a man who fancies womanly men (i.e. attracted to male sex but female gender) is gay rather than straight. But seeing as this hypothetical man likes the female gender, why does that make him gay? Is sexual orientation merely which type of genitals you prefer?

Sex and gender aren't the same. Your sex is which one you are biologically (which is either male or female, except in rare cases), and your gender is which one you are mentally and emotionally.

That it gives the Office of National Statistics a reason to validate its budget as much as anything else- particularly when it comes to voluntary activities. I employed a female
to do a job that historically attracts men, but I know that times are changing. But we had to let her go, not because she was female, but because she was shit.
In my team, no two people are from the same country. Its not a choice to show that I'm being racially fair, its actually because it makes the work for the team easier, as we have to deal with people from many countries, including the countries of origin of the staff i employ.
