peering close to it it's got hands (or perhaps antennae) holding what looks like a book.

edit: it's wearing a dress and it's got little feet, and its face looks like a horrible gutted burned-out ruin of insectine horror. i agree, it's probably cthulu, dressed as a schoolgirl, wearing angel wings, singing a hymn from a book.
