I have always been tempted to get a manual film camera. i got the Canon 1000F but its abit to automated for my liking.

Pentax P30. I was given it for my 18th birthday; 16 years later, it's still doing sterling service.
I suspect it'll outlive the easy availability of 35mm film...

been round the world 3 times and all over aus, battered as fuck but still takes a great pic.
You learn to bracket exposures pretty quickly with a manual camera but the A1 has a program mode so you can still basically point and shoot.
