is that it's natural, as far as I could tell- I saw no tool marks or chunks of stone to indicate that it's artificial.

There was a scene in the labyrinth where Sarah passed by a series of stones that made a head when viewed from an angle, and then they panned around to show the individual rocks. This is a lot like that.
It about made me shit bricks.
