In fact, it could be said they invented interior decoration in its present form. Look at Barbarian decor. Skulls, shields, swords, lanterns. Look at Roman interiors - statues, mosaics, magnificent artworks. See, that's what the Romans have done for us - Athena posters in Ikea picture frames.
