I love the Books and I love the Films (adaptations)But which is better, there's only one way to decide.....

I quite like Ian McKellen's Gandalfalthough there are quite a lot of cringeworthy mushy sentimentality in Peter Jackson's films that aren't present in the books particularly the relationship between Frodo and Sam in the Book is more Master and Servant which bond into a stronger friendship as it progresses until they come out as equals, in the film they are quite best-matey at the begining and by the end you're almost shouting "Get a Room!"

If you like Ralph Bakshicheck out "Wizards". It's a great film. Post-apocalypse-sword-sorcery-fairy-Nazi-siblingrivalry-awesomeness.
