is jasons internal escape mechanism, the fantasy world he enters to mast the horror of abuse unleashed upon him daily by the evil old bastard grandpa.

hence 'grandpa in my pocket' - it's one boys struggle to overcome the horror of having his bum taken to bits daily. this time, grandpa had gone too far.
