They are just stupid people who want to be telly.
I blame the smug, coke-snorting, execs at a certain TV company who feel its acceptable to exploit people, and ruin their lives for £50 a day and are dining out at the fucking Ivy on how clever and witty their 'original' concept was

Making money from people being stupid and/or lazy is not only fun, but how the whole system works (see terms and conditions for details).
I don't really blame anyone.

I kind of agree with that.
It's easy to say "well, if you don't want the hassle don't go on the show", but execs often tell outright lies to people to get them on these things.
